Making Mittens
This class addresses the fundamentals of mitten construction. Students will learn how to design a pattern from any yarn, particularly handcrafted.
Saturday 1-4
Instructor: Elisabeth Marino
Students will then design their own mitten from a swatch. Students will leave with three original patterns from the instructor and progress on one of their own. It is an integral skill for any fiber crafter wishing to have patterns available for their original yarns, or knitter wanting to build on their existing skill set.
Student supplies: pencils, large erasers, a clipboard, a tape measure, and a knitted swatch from yarn around which they would like to design a mitten. The instructor will not supply these materials. There are no materials to buy at the time of class. Each student will receive a class packet of patterns and class notes.
